DESCRIPTION
In this course, we explore the art and science of cyanotype using John Herschal's original 1840 formula. Topics include cyanotype chemistry, paper choice and coating, artificial and natural light exposure as well as bleaching and toning.
Using this straightforward and versatile medium, students will create photograms of everyday and natural objects, as well as prints from transparencies and cutouts. We will discuss composition, mounting, and display.
In the end, you will walk away with your own works of art.
Using only top-quality materials means you experience the art-making process in a way that inspires your creativity.
